dc.description.abstract | This thesis examines a proposed empirical method for determining the 100(1-α)% lower confidence limit for the reliability of a system composed of a mixture of series and parallel connected components for which only component level test data is available. The method is an extension of the Log-gamma procedure originally proposed for series connected systems only. The accuracy of the method is assessed for some representative system reliability constructs using a computer simulation procedure. The simulation results are examined with a view toward identification of accuracy indication parameters which may be estimated prior to the component tests. | |
