The Marine Corps and Army are developing a Position Locating. Reporting System to aid the battlefield commander in locating his assets during battle. This study h;as applied Extended Kalman Filtering technigues to that problem, evolving from a simple Extended Kalman Filter Observer to three moving observers, whose position is uncertain, estimating the position cf another unit.

In Situ Heading Drift Correction for Human Position Tracking Using Foot-Mounted Inertial/Magnetic Sensors Bachmann, Eric; Calusdian, James; Hodgson, Eric; Yun, Xiaoping (2012-05);This paper presents a heading drift correction method and experimental results for position tracking of human movement based on the use of foot-mounted inertial/magnetic sensor modules. A position tracking algorithm ...
Song, G.; Kelly, B.; Agrawal, B.N. (1999);This paper presents the design and experiment results of active position control of a shape memory alloy (SMA) wires actuated composite beam. The composite beam is honeycomb structured with shape memory alloy wires embedded ...
Pinto, Victor H.; Everett, Louis J.; Driels, Morris (1990-12);A numerical scheme was developed to solve the inverse kinematics for a user-defined manipulator. The scheme was based on a nonlinear least-squares technique which determines the joint variables by minimizing the difference ...
