The purpose of this thesis is to develop a rational career model for the Venezuelan supply officer. An exposition is made of how the present supply officer progresses in his naval career. The current development practices are analyzed, and the areas in which they need improvement are examined. The nature and characteristics of the supply officer are defined in several ways to provide a better understanding of his role and responsibilities within the Venezuelan Navy. Finally, a career model for the Venezuelan supply officer is proposed.
