dc.description.abstract | In the design of a microcomputer regulator, continuous or discrete method can be applied. The objective of this thesis is to provide a continuous controller design method that can be used to compensate for the effect of the microcomputer transport lag. The compensation over the frequency range of interest yields a regulator response approximately equivalent to a direct analog feedback controller. The technique uses state feedback method for development of the required phase compensation. The continuous system design is additionally compared to the discrete system design for the second order system numerical example. The method however is shown to be general enough to also apply to higher order system. | |
