The non-linear elasto-plastic responses of a submerged cylindrical shell to an underwater shock wave have been investigated. Using the EPSA (Elasto-Plastic Shell Analysis) code, the gross responses of homogeneous and ring-stiffened shells were evaluated, The relevant parameters have been displayed and evaluated using PATRAB-G color graphics system. An interface module was developed between EPSA and PATRAN-G. The deformations and von Mises stresses throughout the shell have been qualitatively evaluated.

Malsick, Mark D. (Monterey, California. Naval Postgraduate School, 1995-09);Recent observational and modeling studies have suggested that transient tropical perturbations may induce significant intraseasonal teleconnections between the tropics and midlatitudes. We have investigated the mechanisms ...
A study of transient radiation effects on the response of standard and radiation-hardened integrated-circuit operational amplifiers in an electron beam. Enright, Patric Stam (Monterey, California. U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, 1969-12);This study investigates the effects of 1-µsec pulses of 80-90 Mev electrons on the standard µA709 operational amplifier and its radiation-hardened version, the µA744. The transient responses from the electron beam and ...
