This thesis gives the specifications of a simulation
model for a particular Local Area Network (LAN) system
which implements functions of the Stock Point Logistics
Integrated Communications Environment (SPLICE) . First,
system simulation and LAN components and performance measures
are discussed in general. Then, the components of a LAN
system model employing bus architecture are identified and
modeled as an open network of queues.
