dc.description.abstractMany organizations exist within the Department of Defense which exhibit the properties of multi-channel, time-dependent queueing systems. One such system is the Army's Acute Minor Illness Clinic (AMIC) . Models of this system can be developed to determine optimum staffing levels and to upgrade the quality of service provided. This study developed a time-dependent simulation program which was applied to a two queue, multi-channel queueing system. In particular, this model was designed to test and evaluate the results of an analytical model of the AMIC. The results of both of these models are compared to a second simulation program which more closely models the AMIC in order to measure the significant differences between it and the two other models.en_US
