This study examines the history of five Maritime Labor Unions with an emphasis on the trend of
wages and benefits over the past ten years (1976-1986). The five unions studied are: National Maritime Union of America (NMU); Seafarers ' International Union of North America (SIUNA); International Organization of Masters, Mates and Pilots (NMP); National Marine Engineers Beneficial Association (MEBA); and the American Radio Association (ARA).
