dc.description.abstractArgos is a prototype multimedia database developed as both a Battle Group Commander's assesment tool and a shipboard data management tool. The current prototype developed by using HyperCard/Macintosh demonstrates an effective utilization of off-the-shelf technology to solve real world problems commonly faced by the United States Navy. The ultimate goal of Argos is to provide database support for the "Paperless Ship".
