This thesis represents the development of a database system for personnel management and watch scheduling on the Hellenic Navy ships. DBase III plus is used as a "Database Management System" to implement the main task, duties assignment in the administration office of a war ship. The implementation is a collection of algorithms that provide intelligent decision support to users of the system about the assignment duties. It is designed to run on an IBM PC XT TURBO microcomputer. The system is developed to support all the administrative tasks and activities and to provide real time decision information on the crew allocations.
