dc.description.abstractThis thesis is a study of the J52 Engine Component Improvement Program (CIP) . The objective of the thesis was to determine if the correlation between J52 CIP expenditures and improved maintenance parameters at the component level could be quantified. The major focus of the study revolved around developing a methodology to accomplish the objective using existing databases and open dialogue between the J52 engine manufacturer (Pratt & Whitney), NAVAIRSYSCOM Engine Program Manager, and various NADEP engineers. The methodology evolved using the Fuel Nozzle Support Assembly and was validated using the Fuel Pump. The thesis reached the conclusion that observed improvements in maintenance parameters can be linked to CIP expenditures at the component level.en_US
