dc.description.abstractThis interactive tutorial reviews the linearization technique of expanding a nonlinear function (with one variable, and two variables) into a Taylor series about some nominal or operating point and retaining only the linear term. The interactions in this tutorial include real-time graph plotting using click-and-drag along a curve, using sliding scales to change inputs to variables, and observing changes in the coefficients and constants of linearized equations.en_US
