The purpose of this thesis is to provide nontechnical information concerning microcomputer to mainframe connectivity utilizing terminal emulation. The focus is on IBM, and IBM compatible, microcomputers and on IBM 3270 Terminal Emulation. An appendix to this thesis is a User's Manual for the IBM PC 3270 Emulation Program, version 3.00. This manual is intended for use in the Administrative Sciences Department microcomputer labs of the Naval Postgraduate School.
