This thesis investigates computer security considerations in distributed systems. In particular, it concentrates on assisting managers to gain an
appreciation for what distributed systems are, and what are the inherent security issues in these systems. A survey of the literature on computer
security was conducted to identify those issues unique to distributed systems. Although many controls are discussed, management must design
and support a comprehensive security plan tailored to their unique organization.
