Abstract
This thesis investigates the normal to superconducting transition time (hereafter called the backswitch time) in thin films of indium. Varying thicknesses of silicon monoxide have been evaporated over the indium films and the effect of these layers has been observed at different temperatures over a considerable range of total current through the specimens.
