dc.description.abstractThis study of the movement of thickness lines of differential analysis in relation to the 700 mb. winds was conducted at the U. S. Naval Postgraduate School, Annapolis, Maryland during the academic year 1947 - 1948. The purpose was to obtain forecasting rules based on the 700 mb. winds for the preparation of upper air prognostic charts and to study the movements of thickness lines when non-advective influences were present.en_US
