dc.description.abstract | The Navy unveiled its new slogan, “A Global Force for Good,” at the end of last year, and was immediately given the chance to prove it. The powerfully-devastating earthquake that hit the poor island nation of Haiti on Jan. 12 led to a swift Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HA/DR) response by all of the services. And one of the players at the civil-military boundary in that effort – serving as a bridge between on-the-ground medical personnel, the USNS Comfort hospital ship, and the international non-governmental organization (NGO) community – was the Naval Postgraduate School’s rapid response wireless communications team. | en_US |
