ITSim is a newly developed agent-based simulation environment designed to analyze operations within the broader range of tasks of the Federal Armed Forces, the Bundeswehr. Modern warfare scenarios are dominated by asymmetric threats with complex non-linear interdependencies and interrelations that traditional techniques of analysis are insufficient to capture. For example, it is often hard to determine whether located humans are opponents (Red) or just civilians (neutral). This distinction can often only be made, when suspicious behavior is observed. Especially, when protecting a base, the response time to suspicious behavior is important to prevent attacks
