University Students Evaluate Hi-Tech Construction System for HADR, Expeditionary Missions
Abstract
When the Naval Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC) needed to assess the overall cost-effectiveness of a cold-formed steel mobile factory for Navy applications in a real-world
environment, they turned to Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) Department of Information Sciences Lecturer Brian Steckler and two students from the Graduate School of Business and
Public Policy. Steckler and his students responded, traveling to Southeast Asia during the Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) operations to perform a comprehensive
financial and business case assessment that put the system to the test.
