Authority Files for the Naval Postgraduate School

This working document provides a snapshot perspective of organizational changes at the Naval Postgraduate School during a 50 year period from 1953 to 2005. ! The examples are not comprehensive; they are illustrative and serve two functions. First, the organization charts and other information in this paper illustrate the institution’s constant evolution and its ever-changing commitment to provide operationally relevant advanced education programs for the Navy. Secondly, the examples indicate the significant challenges faced by the Dudley Knox Library staff in developing authority files for the archives and other library purposes.
