(e, e') from the giant dipole resonance (GDH) in OCe verifies the macroscopic model by Myers et al., while ruling out the Steinwedel-Jensen model and, to a lesser extent, the Goldhaber-Teller model. This result leads to discrepancies between (n, o.') and (e, e') concerning the existence of a giant-monopole (breathing-mode) state, particularly if one considers the independent verification of the Meyers et al. model by the experimental A(-0.23) energy dependence of the GDH.

Low-level stratus prediction using binary statistical regression : a progress report using Moffett Field data Gaver, Donald Paul; Jacobs, Patricia A. (Monterey, California. Naval Postgraduate School, 1983-12); NPS55-83-034Various statistical models and techniques were employed to forecast the existence of low-level stratus conditions. They are illustrated for data at a single station (Moffett Field, Sunnyvale, California) using single-station ...
Donegan, John Joseph, Jr. (Monterey, California. Naval Postgraduate School, 1972-09);Polycrystalline alloys of iron in vanadium up to 15.32 atomic percent were prepared principally by arc melting. In order to obtain the elastic constants and investigate the possibility of the existence of an elastically ...
Gordon, Robert H. (Monterey, California. Naval Postgraduate School, 1968-06);Electron scattering experiments on the proton were carried out in a range of momentum transfers squared of 0.025 (Fermi -2) to be 0.65 (Fermi -2). Polyethylene was used as target material and the proton data were normalized ...
