The items in this collection were retrieved from a dumpster in 2010 and given to the Special Collections and Archives section of the Naval Postgraduate School’s Dudley Knox Library (DKL). The collection consists of photographs and documents that once belonged to Rear Admiral Earl E. Stone.
The Earl Everett Stone Collection contains a number of items from the personal files of Rear Admiral Earl E. Stone. These items include photographs, newspaper clippings, official Navy documents, articles, and other assorted papers, and date from 1941 to Admiral Stone’s retirement in 1958, and possibly later. The collection includes photographs from almost all of Admiral Stone’s postings after the attack on Pearl Harbor, including the USS Wisconsin (BB-64), Training Command, Pacific Fleet, and the Naval Postgraduate School.
