Total ownership cost reduction case study: AEGIS microwave power tubes
Abstract
The goal of this research is to provide a descriptive case study that will chronicle the operational and engineering processes that were used to reduce the total ownership cost for the AEGIS Shipbuilding Project while dramatically improving the mean time before failure. The processes used to achieve these results are important to understand in light of current reduction in various resources in different programs. In particular, this case highlights the role that Naval Warfare Centers can and do play in the acquisition process.-- report documentation page.
