Prepared at the Naval Postgraduate SchoolThis Journal is the result of a directed study counducted by J.M. Wyatt, LCDR, SC, USN, E.J. Knapp, LCDR, SC, USN and K.J. Burke, LT, USN. The study had two basic objectives: (1) to determine the feasibility of a Naval Postgraduate School management journal, and (2) to publish a prototype journal if the result of the study proved positive. The articles selected for inclusion in this journal were written by students of the Department of Business Administration and Economics. The subject matter was chosen from papers written in the various disciplines of managment such as behavioral science, economics, computer systems, etc. The goal of the study group was to select articles that contribute to the advancement of the knowldge of managment practices and that had application in a military environment.
