The centripetal gas turbine has the inherent characteristic of variable nozzle area. This characteristic tends toward greater cycle stability when changing the fractional load operating conditions. Short acceleration periods are obtained when in need of quick changes of R.P.M. primarily because of the variable nozzle area effect.
