Dr. Sadagic has performed impressive interdisciplinary work in the domains of virtual reality, augmented reality, human factors, multiuser collaborative environments, human performance evaluation, and additive manufacturing. These efforts have exemplified cross-disciplinary and cross-institutional work at the Naval Postgraduate School, have greatly impacted Navy and Marine Corps operations, and have profoundly inspired her students.Dr. Oriti’s interdisciplinary teaching and research focus on supporting of the US Navy’s energy goals. As the US Navy installs distributed energy resources and microgrids on its facilities, remote camps and vessels, Dr. Oriti has developed multi-disciplinary teams of faculty and students to advance resilient and efficient military microgrid research. This includes an interdisciplinary microgrid study group with the main purpose of supporting students of different departments working on microgrid- related theses. The core of the study group includes faculty and students from Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) and Applied Mathematics, with participation from Mechanical Engineering (MAE), Systems Engineering (SE) and Operations Research (OR). Through this group, Dr. Oriti started a collaboration with the MIT Lincoln Laboratory in 2019 and was able to send one of her students there, Capt. Dommert to perform experimental measurement in support of his thesis.
