Solving global two dimensional routing problems using Snell's law and A* search

Richbourg, R.F.; Rowe, Neil C.; Zyda, Michael J.; McGhee, Robert B. (IEEE, 1987)
Long-range route planning is an important component in the intelligent control system of an autonomous agent. Most attempts to solve it with map data rely on applying simple search strategies to high-resolution, node-and-link ...

Artificial Intelligence through Prolog by Neil C. Rowe

Vehicle path-planning in three dimensions using optics analogs for optimizing visibility and energy cost

Rowe, Neil C.; Lewis, David H. (Monterey, California. Naval Postgraduate School, 1989-01)
Path planning is an important issue for space robotics. Finding safe and energy-efficient paths in the presence of obstacles and other constraints can be complex although important. We have been investigating high-level ...

Steps towards parsing of query sequences to a database / Proceedings of the First International Workshop on Expert Database Systems, October 1984

Rowe, Neil C. (Monterey, California. Naval Postgraduate School, 1984-10)
Sequences of queries to a database system can have structure. Recognizing this structure is a kind of "parsing", analogous to the parsing of sentences. We present two rather different approaches to recognition for exploitation. ...

Some links between turtle geometry and analytic geometry / International Journal of Mathematical Education in Science and Technology, 1985

Rowe, Neil C. (Monterey, California. Naval Postgraduate School, 1985)
The computer language Logo facilitates the teaching of analytic geometry and calculus from the notion of curvature, through its "turtle geometry" facility. We provide some theoretical basis for finding turtle geometry ...

Rotating Cubes: A Trigonometry Project Using Logo

Rowe, Neil C. (Monterey, California. Naval Postgraduate School, 1985)
Trigonometry can be a difficult subject for which to motivate students. Sines and tangents have many applications in science and engineering, but it is hard to find situations in the students' own experiences where they ...

Naming in Programming

Rowe, Neil C. (Monterey, California. Naval Postgraduate School, 1985)
Good names are important in programming. Names do not affect program performance, but can make program text clearer. In particular, they can bring out family relationships between similar procedures. We discuss common ...

Inference-security analysis using resolution theorem-proving

Rowe, Neil C. (Monterey, California. Naval Postgraduate School, 1989-02)
Indirect logical inferences can provide a significant security threat to information processing systems, but they have not been much studied. Classification of data can reduce the threat, but classification decisions ...

Antisampling for estimation: An Overview

Rowe, Neil C. (Monterey, California. Naval Postgraduate School, 1985-10)
We survey a new way to get quick estimates of the values of simple statistics (like count, mean, standard deviation, maximum, median, and mode frequency) on a large data set. This approach is a comprehensive attempt ...

Absolute bounds on the mean and standard deviation of transformed data for constant-sign-derivative transformations

Rowe, Neil C. (Monterey, California. Naval Postgraduate School, 1988-11)
Absolute bounds (or inequalities) on statistical quantities are often a desirable feature of statistical packages since, as contrasted with estimates of those same quantities, they can avoid distributional assumptions and ...

Export search results

The export option will allow you to export the current search results of the entered query to a file. Different formats are available for download. To export the items, click on the button corresponding with the preferred download format.

A logged-in user can export up to 15000 items. If you're not logged in, you can export no more than 500 items.

To select a subset of the search results, click "Selective Export" button and make a selection of the items you want to export. The amount of items that can be exported at once is similarly restricted as the full export.

After making a selection, click one of the export format buttons. The amount of items that will be exported is indicated in the bubble next to export format.
