Decision support model for evaluating MK16 Mine Countermeasure system readiness improvements

We have developed a decision support model to evaluate potential alternatives for improving MK 16 Mine Countermeasure (MCM) system mission readiness. Explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) resource managers are expected to maximize readiness in the face of increasing operational commitments and declining budgets. In order to remain effective in this environment, managers must take a more aggressive approach toward cost efficiency. This can be accomplished by reducing the potential variability associated with resource allocation decisions. We find we can reduce uncertainty through the use of decision support models and the application of sensitivity analysis.
