dc.description.abstractFor many program errors and program checkout problems, on-line techniques provide a promising method of attack. An approach developed in connection with time -sharing computer systems is examined. Then Program Trace, an on-line diagnostic program developed by the author for the CDC 1604 computer, and a Data Display Model DD 65 display and control console is presented and examined in detail.
