In this thesis, the researcher reviewed the Government Commercial Purchase Card program within the United States Marine Corps. The program was reviewed to identify areas where improvements could be made. Problems exist, but they do not appear to be with current procedures. Current issues facing the Marine Corps are (1) split purchases, (2) purchases against Navy Supply Command Instruction (NAVSUPINST) 4200.94, (3) purchases without a bonafide need, (4) purchases that exceeded the CH's limit, and (5) purchases for personal use. Recommendations have been made with the intent to improve the overall management of the purchase card program. The Government purchase card program is a sound and mature program, that with emphasis on internal control, misuse could be reduced while the amount of usage increases.en_US
