dc.description.abstract	The purpose of this research was to examine quantitatively the possible effect of the slope of the core of a cyclonic system on the pressure tendency at the center and the further relationship, to that same tendency, of various other synoptic values available to the forecaster. This work was conducted at the U. S. Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California, during the period November 1948 to May 1949.	en_US
